A Fat Liberation Perspective: Working with clients on GLP-1 Medications

GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, and Zepbound are becoming increasingly common, bringing new questions into the therapy room about body image, food, identity, and mental health. This training introduces clinicians to a fat liberation–informed perspective on working with clients who are using—or considering—these medications. Participants will explore the broader social and medical context surrounding weight loss interventions and reflect on how to support clients in ways that center bodily autonomy, lived experience, and compassionate, non-judgmental care.
