Dani Laliberte (she/her), LCSW
My therapeutic approach is very collaborative, with the belief that therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. I recognize that every client is unique, with different needs, goals, lived experiences, and I enjoy working together as a team to determine what kind of approach might fit best for you. My work is informed by evidence-based practices, including Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and EMDR. I offer both standalone EMDR therapy and EMDR integrated into talk therapy depending on what each individual client may be looking for.
I specialize in trauma, and my work is deeply rooted in a trauma informed perspective that honors each client’s individuality, resilience, and capacity for healing. An important part of my work involves helping clients become more connected to their emotions through the body, developing greater awareness of how experiences, stress, and emotions are held physically. I believe this kind of mind/body connection can be a powerful part of healing, self-understanding, and nervous system regulation.
I also believe humor and laughter can be powerful forms of medicine and meaningful parts of the therapeutic process. This work can be difficult, scary, and complicated, and I believe there is also room for levity, humor, and lightness as part of the therapeutic process. At times, laughter can be grounding, connective, and healing in its own right.
I particularly enjoy working with queer clients and individuals with ADHD, supporting people in navigating challenges related to identity, neurodivergence, relationships, trauma, and everyday life.
