Stacey Rupolo (she/her), LCSW
I came to this work via a winding path, changing careers to become a therapist after years of living paycheck to paycheck, chasing creative dreams, and wrestling with imposter syndrome in the midst of an expanding identity shift. Because of that, I understand how hard it can be to grow, heal, or even just stay grounded while life keeps moving. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, supported, and met with patience and honesty amidst all this movement.
My approach is trauma-informed and centered around you, because you’re the expert on your own life. I tailor our work together based on what you need: sometimes that means being direct and active, other times it means slowing down and creating space to process. Either way, we’ll move at your pace.
I draw from feminist theory, Internal Family Systems/parts work, relational approaches, attachment theory, and polyvagal theory with a healthy dose of humor to support adults dealing with mood issues, relationship struggles, grief, life transitions, and complex trauma. I don’t believe in being a blank slate as a therapist and tend to show up as a real human with healthy boundaries in the therapy room. Our bodies are part of the healing process too, so I often use somatic tools to help people feel more at home in themselves.
I believe healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens in relationship, in community, and in resistance to systems that harm. That’s why I’m committed to abolitionist and anti-racist practice, and to always learning how to show up better for the people I work with. If any of this resonates, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
