Talia Dittmar (she/her), MSW Intern

Welcome, and congratulations on making a commitment to YOU!

I recognize the vulnerability and perhaps fear that comes with sharing your deepest thoughts and experiences. Working collaboratively, my commitment is to enable a safe, respectful space, where you feel valued, empowered, and are comfortable engaging in a meaningful way to overcome barriers, grow, and heal in a way that aligns with your needs and values. Together, at your pace and comfort level, we will navigate relationship, interpersonal, childhood experience, identity, and other challenges, guiding and empowering you to realize your best self.

I apply a strengths-based, empowerment-focused, culturally reflective, and trauma-informed approach. I also leverage a holistic systems perspective, taking into consideration the many factors that influence and shape a person’s life and who they are, including race, culture, family, religion, sexuality, gender, and class. I am acutely sensitive to the role social justice and intersectionality play in determining how people experience society as a result of how they are treated. I have a particular passion for working with individuals and groups who hold marginalized identities, with special focus on the LGBTQ+ community.

I am currently in my second year of a Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Colorado State University, pursuing a clinical behavioral health specialization. Most recently I was a confidential survivor advocate, where I provided trauma-informed support to survivors of interpersonal violence. I bring diversity of thought, personal diversity, life experience, empathy, curiosity, and a passionate commitment to collaboratively work with you to achieve your mental health journey goals.
